A Grammar of Contrasts

Elements traditionally coded as feminine are detached from hierarchy and recomposed into an unconventional equilibrium. In the Prada Spring/Summer 2026 show, the notion of the uniform expands into a new, flexible conceptual terrain, where utility becomes a form of expression and character, back again in a striking new way.

High Craftsmanship

The pocket, an emblematic motif in Prada’s lexicon and an almost archetypal symbol of practicality, becomes architecture: a foundational element of shape and volume. No longer a simple detail, it becomes a generative structure, reiterated with precision and multiplied in shifting permutations.

Snap-button closures retain the utilitarian language of the uniform, while the sharp, carved-like details on straps and handles reinterpret function through variations that almost push it toward something closer to ornament.

In the Spring/Summer 2026 collection, the Prada Route bag rendered in absolute black reflects a more assertive, self-assured attitude. Loose straps and handles suggest movement, a certain autonomy. Alongside black, a spectrum of tonal variations expands the narrative, casting freedom as a contemporary and radical form of elegance.
